“A dog is the only thing on earth that loves you more than he loves himself.”   Josh Billings
The Power of the Dog
---------------------------------------

There is sorrow enough in the natural way
from men and women to fill our day:

But when we are certain of sorrow in store,
Why do we always arrange for more?

Brothers and sisters, I bid you beware
of giving your heart to a dog to tear!

We've sorrow enough in the natural way,
When it comes to burying Christian clay.

Our loves are not given but only lent,
At compound interest at cent per cent.

Though it is not always the case, I believe,
That the longer we've kept 'em, the more do we grieve.

For, when debts are payable, right or wrong.
A short time loan is as bad as a long.

So why in heaven (before we are there)
Should we give our hearts to a dog to tear?

Buy a pup and your money will buy
Love unflinching that cannot lie-

Perfect passion and worship fed
By a kick in the ribs or a pat on the head.

Nevertheless, it is hardly fair
To risk your heart for a dog to tear

When the Fourteen years that nature permits
Are closing in asthma, or tumor, or fits,

And the vet's unspoken prescription runs
To lethal chambers or loaded guns,

Then you will find-it's your own affair,
But... you've given your heart to a dog to tear.

When the body that lived at your single will,
When the whimper of welcome is stilled (how still!),

When the spirit that answered your every mood
Is gone--wherever it goes--for good.

You will discover how much you care
and will give your heart to a dog to tear.

We'll meet again
Don't know where
Don't know when
But I know we'll meet again some sunny day

Keep smilin' through
Just like you always do
Till the blue skies drive the dark clouds far away

So will you please say hello
To the folks that I know
Tell them I won't be long
They'll be happy to know
That as you saw me go
I was singing this song

We'll meet again
Don't know where
Don't know when
But I know we'll meet again some sunny day

Darf Mein Hund Mit In Den Himmel?

Was soll ich denn da oben so alleine?

Was sagt man schon in so ner Situation?

==============================
Will my dog  go to heaven?

Each time, I go with Ceasar into the park
I meet this small old man.
His dog and he are simply inseparable,
and yesterday he addressed me  about this.
He said "With me the end will come soon,
For me all that is already in place,"
But he says to me, "what about him, my dog ?
May my dog go with me into heaven?
Will St. Peter let him in behind me ?
He does not bark and is always freshly bathed.
Will he, like I, be welcome?
He was more dear and faithful than anyone ,
He earned heaven much more than I.
What shall I do up there in heaven alone?
I need him so much and he needs me too! "
I say:
"Naturally, he will go, have no concerns ! "
What can I say in such a situation?
Perhaps I did not lie to him - what do we know ?

May my dog  go with me into Heaven ?
Will St. Peter let him in behind me ?
He does not bark and is always freshly bathed.
Will he, like I, be welcome?
